Christmas around our place this year looks a little like this: vintage doilies strung across pictures, washi tape Christmas trees, fabric scrap garlands, treasures from the garden, and the flickering shapes thrown on the wall from candle lanterns...
Lots (/most) of my Christmas presents still need making (rising panic!) so there will be lots more crafting round these parts yet.
Both my mister and I are swamped at the moment. Juggling my day job with my writing job, a pregnancy, a dinner party for 14 (it was perfect, more on that in another post) and everything else that Christmas entails has been amazingly rewarding but pretty challenging and I am really looking forward to having an honest-to-goodness proper break over Christmas.
But whilst it lasts, we're taking any opportunity we can to be indoors with the Christmas tree and candles, curtains shut against the raging weather outside, revelling in all things Christmas because it will all be over so quickly.
So, happy Christmas revelling to you!

Hooray to the patchwork baubles, folky ribbon and homemade garlands! I've been making paper bunting from old Japanese gift wrap! HO HO HO. Looking forward to seeing how dinner for 14 went!x
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tree! I've made paper star garlands on our tree this year, along with all of the glittery creations that the boys have made. All that for you to look forward to... exciting times ahead! Lou xx
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful! I tried out your berry wreath and it's hanging in the kitchen! Tree looks beautiful too. Staying in seems to be the thing to do as christmas and time with the family does go pretty fast. I'm also looking forward to seeing how dinner for 14 turned out, what madness! x
ReplyDeletei love the washi tape xmas trees! i'm totally stealing that idea next year when we might actually get to celebrate xmas.
ReplyDeletePretty! I like that there is so many different, interesting things in your tree. And the washi tape trees are so clever and cute! And doilies - I like. I bought several in white in a trhift store last year to make a garland, but it didn't happen. But maybe this year. I'm thinking I'm going to stiffen them with sugarstarch. Now you inspire me to get going with the decorations :-)
ReplyDeletewhat a cozy little christmas nook!

Looks super-pretty, especially your little washi tape trees on the wall. Hope all is going well with the bump xx
ReplyDeleteHannah, it is all so lovely and very you and your misterish. It makes my heart happy. Next year a wee baby will get to have that with you too. :
ReplyDeleteI put our tree lights on as soon as I get home every night, and we have a small bit of festive food and drink each day too.
and of course; you're never going to have another Christmas like this one, next year you'll be crafting a baby stocking... I'm in your last minute crafting boat too, good luck!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous tree! I've also done paper garlands - handstitched because I still can't work a sewing machine : (, but shortcut - used a giant hole punch to cut out the circles! I also shamelessly poached your teacups idea and they've been a hit. Despite being waaay behind on my Christmas shopping, going to pencil in some patchwork bauble making this weekend. Continuing to love the blog, your home looks so lovely and cosy!
